Pretty good, but..., The story was great, the characters were great, the timing was great... So why let it all down with spelling errors that two days with an editor would sort out?
Not only was the novel flawed by simple spelling, grammar and punctuation howlers, but so too was the first chapter of the sequel. I'm not sure I'd recommend the first novel to anyone if simple errors like these aren't corrected.
Penelope - do you think that 'readers' are people who don't care about spelling, punctuation and grammar? I'd *happily* fork out money for the second in the series if you promise me you will send your manuscript to an editor.4 - Zackary Casper
Absolutely AMAZING!!!, Wow, you have made such a great book and I'm dying to know what happens next. I wasn't all that happy about the editing though, it confused me, but its one of the most best series I have read so far!5 - Ahmed Howell
Rc2981, The plot of the book is really good. It is one of the best books I have read in a long time.
A great read!!! It is worth 5 stars
I recommend it to all fantasy lovers!!!5 - Judd Kessler
Needs an editor, This was a lovely read and was quite pleased with the overall story. A couple of things didn't feel real for me, like Rae's sudden love for both boys within the first day of meeting them and not really getting to know them first. The story was a little fast paced with the whole thing happening in one whole day which is what made it a little unbelievable. Also I found a few errors with the writing that an editor would have fixed.
But aside from this things this world is a beautiful one and a story I couldn't put down.3 - Prof. Kieran Bahringer
Good story, hard to read at times, this is a fantastic work of fantasy, and has an intriguing and original setting. Thank you for putting it up for free.
woah its no longer free. for paid work, this is very poor quality unless it has been updated...2 - Magdalena Blanda
Demon girl, Excellent book, loved the story and I can't wait to read more.5 - Herman Swaniawski
Great story, One of the best I've read so far. I agree with everything that has already been written - a little too fast past, but great storyline and the spelling & grammar errors get rather annoying. I will be very disappointed if this is not fixed fir the sequel.4 - Mya Lesch PhD
Glamour, Great fast moving story that had me well and truly hooked from the start! Loved every second of it.5 - Mrs. Anastasia Kiehn MD
Lush book, Absolutely beautiful read. The pace was incredibly fast but I think this just added to the drama and excitement. It totally worked! I'm really looking forward to the next installment and that's always the mark of a good read...
I do agree about the poor editing but anyone with half a brain can get round the mistakes to enjoy the vivid imagination that Penelope has brought beautifully to life in The Demon Girl.4 - Jarret Douglas
The demon girl, I couldn't put this one down I loved it! Despite a few spelling and grammar issues it was an awesome read.5 - Lyric Abshire DDS
Glamour, Fantastic❤5 - Khalil Collier Sr.
Good, but needs a few minor tweaks, Clever, sexy (without being vulgar), good reading for young readers, but needs good proofreading and copyreading to correct some grammatical, typographical and formatting errors.3 - Fleta Cronin
Demon girl, A very good story loved it and can't wait to read the next one, I just have to know how it ends now lol keep up the good work!5 - Elyssa Jenkins
Demon girl, Good original story. I like the character, even though she is making a stuff up of her life. Hope her character doesn't get too dark. I like the whole idea of the story but the spelling mistakes are a little frustrating.3 - Mr. Russel Larkin DDS
Loved it!, Loved this book and holding my breath for the next one!5 - Kathryne Runolfsson IV
The demon girl, Thoroughly enjoyed this book!4 - Gianni Walter
Loved it, Can't wait for the next book to come out. Everything happened really quickly in the book, maybe let things stretch out a little so us readers have a chance to think about what's happened and figure things out for ourselves. Overall it was a great read!5 - Vivianne Kuhic
Awkward!, This book has a great story line but that's it, the sentences are so difficult to read, there are a lot of unnecessary words that you get lost in what's happening. :/ disappointed2 - Ms. Elisa Stehr Jr.
Epic..end of story!, Don't listen to any of those people giving terrible reviews! Your books are the first novels I have actually dedicated my time to finishing, mind you I didn't have a choice, I couldn't put it down!!! Thank you so much xoxo5 - Renee Sauer
sucked in, im not a big fan of books or reading but OMG i got soo sucked in to this book it was so hard to put down also got introuble for always reading it and i just purchased demon day cant wait to read it :) thank you for an awesome book :)5 - Sylvester Hoeger
Terrible, The protagonist is an idiot and the story is slow moving. Boring is a word to sum it up.1 - Ms. Breana Larkin
<3, Totally love it :)5 - Mrs. Fae Swaniawski
Brilliant and refreshing, Thanks Penelope, I have bad grammar and it didn't bother me so don't take any notice of the critics. (do you have a circle of reviewers?) I like the pace and the continuous timeline from Rae's perspective, you must really live your character in your head.
Thanks again, I'll be looking for the next part.5 - Arnulfo Heathcote
Such a good read, I like a book that grabs from the start and this one did...I could hardly put it down...looking forward to reading book 2!!!5 - Prof. Berneice Wolf Sr.
Good read but the editors should be shot, Great storyline, a little too fast paced in that the leaps of logic in plot leave the reader without enough connection. Wonderful characters and world. Please do another one but get it proofed first. Spell check won't pick up the context of all spelling and grammatical errors. A couple will always be forgiven but it gets really annoying by the end of the book. Looking forward to your next book, thank you for the story.4 - Priscilla Will
Greatest book i have read in the last year, This was such a great story. It had a little bit of everything- romance, action, fantasy etc.5 - Ms. Bridie Windler
Well done Penelope Fletcher!, This was a great book that I could not put down, the only problem with it was the grammar mistakes. They got quite annoying, other than that, a GREAT read!4 - Dr. Imani Schamberger I
Love love love, I loved this book. I've stopped reading a fair bit, but once I started reading demon girl and demon day, I couldn't put them down. I begged my parents to let me buy it. And I'm so glad they let me. Will definitely buy it in paperback as soon as I can5 - Alysson Wilkinson
Great, Loved the storyline, characters and world created. Needs a little work on editing tho, definitely a must read!4 - Mavis Johnston
Distracted..., Good story. Grammar errors on almost every page distracted the flow.3 - Leanne Kunde PhD
